Fan-Made “Ecco III” Concept Renders by Aphalien

After a lengthy ‘debate’ with Arkon, I decided to take a piece of his advice. As we work on big things for the site to share with you all, we’ll be posting smaller, more regular updates to keep the community abreast of Ecco news.

Tomorrow I’ll be posting a preview of what’s in store in Ecco Prototype 0429 (which is nearing completion, after some ill-timed disk failures) and reimplementing the Ecco remixes section.

In the meantime, check out some stellar 3D rendered concepts by Alphalien of the Dark Sea BBS, proposed for Ed Annunziata’s proposed ‘Ecco III’. Click any of the images below to view at full size. Images are ~1 MByte each.

    Oh, man, my goodness. Those screenshots look amazing. If I didn’t know any better I’d think those were from an official game.

    I’d like to suggest something - I notice that you put the month and the day of the month alongside each new post on this site. However, you don’t put the year as well. So instead of putting “Jul 23″ as the date, for example, I think it’d look better with something like “23 Jul 2009″.

    Does the artist plan for pictures involving post-apocalyptic and Alien environment like in the other ecco games?

So you say for Ed Annunziata’s proposed Ecco III… is Ed actually serious about trying to get a publisher/developer to gear up a team to create a New/Current Gen Ecco game?? I’ve been DIEING for one to be made on the 360! Ecco DotF STILL looks beautiful today but seeing these concept images makes my heart flutter to think what an Ecco game would look like with an engine like Unreal 3 or Frameworks MT 2 [Gears of War and Resident Evil 5 being respective, real world examples of these game engines] Hmmm…… drooool…. hopeful, wishful, prayerful joy is leaking out of me. LOL
